Intel quad-core Tigerton Xeon CPUs launched

Intel has launched its new quad-core "Tigerton" Xeon processor lineup. The new Xeon 7300 series features six quad-core multi-way processors:
  • Xeon X7350: 2.93GHz, 130W, 2x 4MB L2, $2,301
  • Xeon E7340: 2.4GHz, 80W, 2x 4MB L2, $1,980
  • Xeon E7330: 2.4GHz, 80W, 2x 3MB L2, $1,391
  • Xeon E7320: 2.13GHz, 80W, 2x 2MB L2, $1,177
  • Xeon E7310: 1.6GHz, 80W, 2x 2MB L2, $856
  • Xeon L7345: 1.86GHz, 50W, 2x 4MB L2, $2,301
  • Tigerton is part of the Caneland platform which also features the Clarksboro 7300 chipset. One of advantages of Clarksboro is that this chipset gives each socket their own FSB which significantly increases the max FSB bandwidth.
