NVIDIA fears the upcoming GeForce 8800 GT may perform a bit too good and may eat up some of the sales of their GeForce 8800 GTS.

Therefore the firm is planning to launch a new GeForce 8800 GTS variant with more stream processors, according to VR Zone

This new GeForce 8800 GTS will only be shipped with 640MB GDDR3 memory but will have the same clockspeed as the other 8800 GTS parts. The biggest difference will be the 112 instead of 96 stream processors.

The site also says NVIDIA won't make a lot of buzz about the release of this new GeForce 8800 GTS. All marketing will have to be done by NVIDIA's partners.
