One of the things desktop LCD displays lag behind a bit compared to their notebook brothers is resolution. In the notebook world you can find 15.4" displays with a resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels but if you want the same thing on your desk you'll need at least a 20" or 22" LCD display.

ViewSonic today breaks this rule with the new VX1940w 19" LCD display that offers a resolution of 1680 x 1050. The display has a 2ms response time, 3000:1 contrast ratio and 300cd/m² brightness.

The VX1940w will be one of the first models offered in ViewSonic’s latest VX 40 Series of LCDs that feature a new sleek design. A 22-inch version boasting similar features, including high contrast ratio and 2ms response time will be available within the fourth quarter as well.
