Budget Pentium 4 processors in short supply

Budget Pentium 4 processors are in short supply according to chip distributors and motherboard makers, and the problem may worsen after the introduction of the Intel Prescott.

It is expected that Intel will further reduce the supply of budget Pentium 4 chips (Pentium 4's with 400MHz and 533MHz FSB) to boost the sales of the Prescott along with the current models with 800MHz FSB.
Intel’s prime marketing efforts are on P4 processors supporting the 800MHz FSB speed. However, demand for those high-speed chips in the retail market has not met expectations, according to sources.
