VIA to start shipments of first PCI Express chipset at the end of January

VIA will begin small-volume shipments of its third 800MHz Pentium 4 chipset at the end of this month. This new chipset is called the PT890, and it supports PCI Express. Several motherboard makers have already received samples of this chipset and hope to complete a circuit design by the end of this month.
