Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 to cost $319 - cheapest 12MB quad-core

FUD Zilla reports the Core 2 Quad Q9450 will be available for $319.

This Yorkfield based processor features a 2.66GHz clockspeed, 1333MHz FSB and has 12MB L2 cache memory.

The current sweet spot is the Q6600 quad core that works at 2.4GHz and sells for $270 in USA and between €220 and €230 in Euroland. This baby has 8MB of total cash memory while the new one has SSE4 and more cache.

The Q9450 will be launched in January 2008.
