ATI Radeon HD 3850 and 3870 should be silent

The Inquirer reports the upcoming Radeon HD 3850 and 3870 graphics cards will be less noisy than most people expect.

Here's a photo of the single-slot Radeon HD 3850 and dual-slot Radeon HD 3870:



The 3850 has a noise level of only 31dBA and the 3870 outputs 34dBA. It's not really whisper quiet but definitely less noisy than ATI's previous graphics cards or the GeForce 8800 GT which has a noise level of about 43dBA.
