Here are the supposed specifications of Intel his next generation chipsets the Grantsdale, Alderwood and even the Lakeport. I'm not sure if all information is correct, but the main differences between the different chipsets are ought to be correct. It's possible that WiFi is not solely for the Alderwood, and it's also not sure if any of these still has an AGP port. All chipsets will also feature the Intel's Azalia integrated audio solution.
  • i925P (Alderwood): LGA775 Prescott, 800MHz FSB, 4 DIMM slots DDR2 533/400 and DDR400/333, ECC memory support, PCI Express x16 and x1, ICH6/ICH6R, 8 USB 2.0 ports, 1 ATA66/100 controller, 4 Serial ATA controllers, PAT, WiFi. This is the successor of the Canterwood.

  • i915P (Grantsdale-P): LGA775 Prescott, 800/533MHz FSB, 4 DIMM slots DDR2 533/400 and DDR400/333, PCI Express x16 and x1, ICH5/ICH6R, 8 USB 2.0 ports, 1 ATA66/100 controller, 4 Serial ATA controllers.

  • i915G (Grantsdale-G): LGA775 Prescott, 800/533MHz FSB, 4 DIMM slots DDR2 533/400 or DDR400/333, PCI Express x16 and x1, Intel Extreme Graphics 3, ICH6/ICH6R, 8 USB 2.0 ports, 1 ATA66/100 controller, 4 Serial ATA controllers.

  • i915GV (Grantsdale-GV): LGA775 Prescott, 800/533MHz FSB, 4 DIMM slots DDR2 533/400 or DDR400/333, PCI Express x16 and x1, Intel Extreme Graphics 3, ICH6, 8 USB 2.0 ports, 1 ATA66/100 controller, 4 Serial ATA controllers

  • i915GL (Grantsdale-GL): LGA775 Prescott, 533MHz FSB, 2 DIMM slots DDR400/333, PCI Express x1, Intel Extreme Graphics 3, ICH6, 8 USB 2.0 ports, 1 ATA66/100 controller, 4 Serial ATA controllers

The next chipset is coming out somewhere in 2005:
  • Lakeport P and G : LGA775 Prescott/Tejas, (1333?)/1066/800MHz FSB, DDR2 667/533/400, PCI Express x16 and x1, possibly no PCI anymore, Intel Extreme Graphics 4? (with Shader 3.0)
