Samsung R700 17-inch notebook released

Samsung unveiled a new 17" notebook - the R700.

Unfortunately the display has a resolution of only 1440 x 900 pixels. Samsung doesn't state which processor is used in this notebook but says it features a GeForce 8400 GS graphics card, a dual-layer DVD burner, 1.3MP webcam, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and a 7-in-1 card reader.

The system will ship with Windows Vista Home Premium and should be available for under $1,000 in February 2008.
