Dell to phase out AMD systems?

Looks like the short partnership between Dell and AMD is coming to an end. People looking to buy an AMD-based system at Dell's US website are now greeted by the following message:
Dell computers with AMD processors.
Shop for Dell computers with AMD processors in retail stores. See our retail partners for details.

Computers with AMD processors are not available online.
There's a link in the message which leads to a page that promotes Dell's retail partners. We're not sure what to make of it but it looks like AMD-based systems from Dell will soon only be available via phone sales and at retail locations like Best Buy, Staples and Wal Mart. This is another big blow for the severely cash-strapped AMD.

I think it's more of a scaling back. AMD needs a better offering, and the consumer community knows this.

When AMD comes back to the table with better offerings, I'm sure this current decision can be easily reversed.
