Samsung and Micron to focus on European DRAM market

DigiTimes reports Micron and Samsung will shift focus to the European DRAM market in light of concerns about weak demand from US consumers:
Marketers observe that both Micron and Samsung have started shifting their DRAM marketing focus to Europe in 2008. Both companies made the change as worries about the weak economy in the US market still exist. Although Qimonda is expected to see aggravated price competition pressure from Micron and Samsung, the higher reputation that it enjoys in the region should help the company maintain its competitive edge, the marketers commented.
