Toshiba has released four new Satellite notebooks this week: the 13.3" Satellite U400, 14.1" Satellite M300, 15.4" Satellite A300 and 17" Satellite P300.
Each new Satellite series sports Toshiba’s Fusion™ Finish in a Horizon pattern. More than just a graphic element, the Fusion Finish is a unique combination of appearance and texture. The Horizon pattern’s grey pinstripes set upon a field of black, combined with the new Fusion Finish pattern effectively gives each laptop a unique and modern appeal by sealing the laptop casing in a clear, glossy treatment.

To further enforce this sleek and elegant look, each new Satellite series features “Feather-Touch” multimedia command keys, which lie beneath the Fusion Finish and are subtly bathed in a cool glow of white LED light. These touch-sensitive buttons enable users to enjoy and control DVD and CD playback as well as volume with a single finger touch. Additionally, a flush mounted touchpad rests seamlessly across the center of the palm rest with a white LED light across the top to enhance the detail-oriented finish, while providing a slight texture change so users can easily find the touchpad without looking away from the screen.

With the new Satellite series, Toshiba’s aim is to enhance the digital experience in terms of design and functionality with several new standard design features such as Sleep-and-Charge USB ports and facial recognition. Innovative Sleep-and-Charge USB ports enable popular mobile devices such as MP3 players, mobile phones and PDAs to be charged whether the laptop is powered-on or off. A Webcam with facial recognition software provides users with a unique and fun and convenient way to gain access to the laptop based on a recorded digital image of the user’s face.

Building upon Toshiba’s history of strong audio performance in its laptops, each new Satellite series includes Dolby® Sound Room™ technology to create a virtual surround sound experience through headphones or built-in stereo speakers for an enhanced movie watching experience. In a true surround sound setting, an S/P DIF optical audio connection allows each laptop to be connected to a home theater system. The Satellite M300, Satellite A300 and Satellite P300 series include Harman Kardon stereo speakers to further enhance the laptop’s audio experience.

Toshiba has provided these enhancements without compromising mainstream specifications. Configurations available today include a variety of Intel and AMD processors that provide users with an abundance of power to enjoy all that modern computing stands for in terms of Internet, multimedia entertainment and productivity. Configurations with discrete ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD3470 or HD3650 graphics include an HDMI port for connecting the laptop to flat panel TVs. Additionally, each laptop is standard equipped with a high-definition display, which is perfect for viewing a wide variety of high-definition content including online HD television streaming and video podcasts.
