Nordic Hardware reports AMD finally has some 45nm chips that can handle 3GHz:
With Intel processors doing 3GHz with a flick of the hand, we can't say that we were overly impressed when we found out that 45nm AMD chips can do 3GHz in the lab. The chip is Deneb, which will also mark the return of the FX series in just a few months. Whether this is any kind of indication of what to expect, we're not sure, but it seems like AMD is at least trying to get the frequencies up just a bit. From an overclocking point of view the Phenom series is utterly disappointing in comparison with the Intel's current lineup.
