Notebook makers raise 2008 shipment goal

DigiTimes writes first-tier notebook makers Quanta Computer, Wistron and Inventec are raising their 2008 shipment goals:
Quanta originally planned to ship 40 million notebooks this year, but with the assistance from low-cost notebook PC orders, the company's shipments are expects to reach 45 million units and even challenge 50 million, while Inventec is expected to ship over 15 million notebook this year, up from an original forecast of 12-13 million units. Wistron's notebook shipments in 2008 are expected to increase to 20 million units, the papers cited market watchers as saying.
