AMD eight-core Montreal on Piranha platform next year

FUD Zilla writes AMD has a eight-core Montreal processor up its sleeves for 2009:
AMD's Server VP has mentioned six-core and twelve-core, but not the eight-core, which can mean that they have delayed their eight-core plans for servers or they will launch eight-cores only for the high-end desktop market. We can confirm that an eight-core 45nm part was on the previous server roadmap.

We wouldn’t mention any names, but the chap went on the record to a Taiwanese printed newspaper and has confirmed the Piranha platform, DDR3 and Hypertransport 3 support for its octal-core Montreal.
