As was the case earlier in the week, ASUS made no comment on the Eee Monitor's price or configuration, but reports from earlier in the year suggest a 19 to 21-inch screen size, built-in TV tuner and a starting pricing of around $500. Apple's iMac starts at $1199.
The Eee Monitor should be available sometime in September, around the same time as the company's previously announced Eee TV. The 42-inch LCD TV is reported to include the Linux-based PC abilities of other Eee PC products, while costing no more than $200 over the cost of regular LCD TVs of the same size.
But what's this? ASUStek CEO, Jerry Shen, presented a 2008 Eee family roadmap that included two previously unannounced Eee products slated for launch sometime between September and December this year. The products were listed as "Eee S1" and "Eee K1", and no clue of what type of product they might be was given afterwards.
