DigiTimes had a very short interview with Anand Chandrasekher, manager of Intel ultra mobility group, about mobile internet devices (MIDs). Here's a snip:
Q: What is your reaction to the announcement Nvidia and ARM are working together enter the MID market?

A: We welcome Nvidia's challenge. The fact that Nvidia is aggressively pushing into the market indicates the company is also optimistic about the potential of the MID market, which is a good news for Intel. If everybody makes an effort to expand the market's scale, it will help speed up the standardization of MIDs as a mainstream CE product.

Q: What are the advantages and disadvantages of x86 versus ARM architecture?

A: I don't want to comment directly on specifics regarding our competitor's product, ultimately the market will decide. Our focus is to develop a platform that we think is right for the market, and we believe our platform has much better performance overall.
