ATI R700 launch schedule unveiled

Techpowerup translated some information about the upcoming dual-GPU ATI R700 graphics card:
This dual-GPU card which features two of the RV770 graphics processors which have been an overnight success for AMD/ATI in their single-GPU avatars, the HD4850 and HD4870, will be priced at US $499. AMD claims that this card will overwhelm the GeForce GTX 280. AMD will be in a position to supply samples for internal testing and quality evaluation by 15th of July and July 24th is slated for completion of testing following which, the product could start shipping. Partners will receive chip samples for non-reference designs. Volume shipments of the chips could commence sometime in August.
