NVIDIA: Only some notebooks models are affected

Posted on Monday, July 28 2008 @ 22:54:29 CEST by

DigiTimes heard last week that some Taiwanese channel vendors demanded a recall of G84 and G86 discrete graphics cards from NVIDIA because the graphics firm did not clearly explain the details of the faults reported in its notebook GPUs. However, NVIDIA commented on the story and states only some specific notebook models are affected. The firm claims desktop-based discrete graphics cards aren't affected by the problem:
Nvidia has commented that the faulty notebook GPU problem only exists in a few specific notebook models made by specific clients. The company contended that desktop-based discrete graphics card products are not affected by the issue.
