A report over AnandTech web-site claims that Intel will release its i925XE core-logic along with Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.73GHz processors by the second week of October, 2004. The setback fits into the sequence of Intel’s issues with products postponements criticized by the company’s CEO Craig Barrett recently.

Originally it was said that the company will release its 3.43GHz Pentium 4 Extreme Edition chip along with i925XE core-logic in Q3 2004, presumably in August. The chip was rumored to be a yet another overclocked 0.13 micron product with 2MB of L3 cache and 1066MHz Quad Pumped Bus. In October, however, it is reported that the chip will be made using more advanced 90nm fabrication technology and will feature Prescott architecture.
