Techpowerup reports the the big three motherboard makers Asus, Gigabyte and MSI are working on AMD 790GX based motherboards with Sideport memory. These boards feature a bit of integrated DDR3 memory from Qimonda to boost the performance of the Radeon HD 3300 integrated graphics processor.
Each of these IGP's come with memory controllers like almost any discrete GPU, the IGP features a DDR3 (not to be confused with GDDR3) memory controller that accesses 128 MB of memory that's on the motherboard, this memory size is expanded by ATI Hypermemory technology.
