AMD six-core Istanbul already in Q2 2009?

Posted on Tuesday, December 02 2008 @ 20:17:56 CET by

German computer site ATI Forum claims the AMD six-core Istanbul server processor may arrive as soon as Q2 2009.

This chip was originally slated for launch in the second half of 2009, but ATI Forum claims development of the chip was accelerated because AMD's 45nm process turned out more mature than expected.
