AMD to debut low-power AM3 chips in Q1 2009

DigiTimes writes AMD plans to release low-power Socket AM3 processors this quarter, and some new triple-core chips in the second quarter:
In other news, AMD has scheduled to roll out AM3-based low-power CPUs including the Athlon X4 605e (65W) and 6xxe (45W) in the first quarter of 2009, the sources said. The company also plans to introduce triple-core Athlon X3 405 (65W) and 4xxe (45W) models in the second quarter of this year, the sources added.

Meanwhile, orders for old-generation low-power CPUs including the Phenom X3 8250e (65W), Phenom X4 9150e (65W) and Athlon X2 4450e (45W) will be phased out by the end of the first quarter, 2009, according to the sources.
