NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT Green Edition to use less power

Posted on Wednesday, January 14 2009 @ 18:57:06 CET by

VR Zone claims NVIDIA has plans to release a Green Edition of the GeForce 9600 GT, these new video cards will have a slightly lower voltage and a 600MHz core instead of 650MHz to cut power consumption.
This card is known as GeForce 9600 GT Green Edition based on the new 55nm G94-350-B1 core. The reason why Nvidia called it Green Edition is because its core voltage is 0.1V lower than the current 55nm G94 cores thus reducing power consumption further.
