FUD Zilla received word that Intel will drop the price of its T9600 and T8700 mobile Core 2 processors in the second quarter of the year.
After January 18th, the last price drop, Intel plans to drop the prices of at least two notebook CPUs in Q2 2009. It won’t change the world, but T9600 clocked at 2.8GHz, with 6MB of cache and 1066MHz FSB will drop from current $517 to new $309.

Quad-core Q9000 at 2.0 GHz will stay at its current $340 level, but Core 2 Duo T8700 at 2.53GHz and 3MB cache will drop from $236 to a new $197.
Bigger price cuts should be expected later this year, as Intel is expected to introduce its Nehalem-based Auburndale mobile processors in Q4 2009.
