For example, the iPhone 3G launched in 21 countries simultaneously whereas the G1 launched in the US only. It's also worth noting that the precision reflects that of the announcements made.

Just for the fun of it, Engadget compiled a chart that illustrates how long it took to sell 1 million units of some of the most popular smartphones.
