Intel's changes to delay Windows XP 64-bit?

It's all very well for Dr Craig Barrett to have a spanking new set of roadmaps ready for the first quarter. But what does that do to the launch date of Windows XP 64, ready-to-run for AMD64 and Intel's iAMD64?

It does a lot, according to sources close to the heat. Those sources tell us that the spanking new architecture with the spanking new onboard memory controller is likely to be announced in the first quarter of next year.
