Nokia sees opportunities in economic crisis

Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo stated at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that he sees opportunities in the economic downturn:
Nokia came to the Mobile World Congress here with a couple of stunning additions to its line-up of smartphones and its much anticipated Ovi Store concept to push the business forward in what CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo described as challenging conditions in which efficiency and global presence will be crucial.

Admitting that the mobile communications sector would certainly be impacted by the global downturn, Kallasvuo nevertheless stressed there are also opportunities out there, notably in the services sector.

"We intend to continue investing in new opportunities while finding the right balance between that and tough but necessary cutbacks," he said.
