ATI RV790 to have more efficient PowerPlay

German tech site ATI Forum claims the upcoming ATI RV790 GPU will be made on an improved 55nm process and that the chip will also have improved PowerPlay technology.

The site heard from sources close to AMD that the RV790 will use less power in idle mode than the Radeon HD 4850, and the load power consumption will be on par or slightly lower than the Radeon HD 4870.
