DigiTimes reports Intel started shipping its Atom N270 processor to Chinese whitebox netbook vendors:
Since the N270 is priced only US$15 and US$5 higher than VIA's C7-M and Nano processors, respectively, some local first-tier PC vendors in China including Founder, Lenovo and Haier are also considering expanding their Atom-based netbook shipments, the paper claimed.
Additionally, whitebox netbook makers are also interested in using the NVIDIA Ion platform. This is about $5 to $10 more expensive but earned the interested of some whitebox netbook makers thanks to its better graphics and HD video features.
