A page with details and photos of the NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI motherboard reference design appeared on NVIDIA's website, this chipset is designed for the new AM3 processors from AMD. Overall the board appears to be very similar to the reference design of the nForce 780a SLI, save the fact that it has a black instead of green PCB.

The biggest change is under the hood, the nForce 980a SLI adds support for AMD's Socket AM3 processors and supports both DDR2 and DDR3 memory.
