Samsung to intensify SDRAM competition in 2005

In a move to expand its market share to 75% in 2005, Samsung Electronics may continue slashing its SDRAM prices, according to sources at Taiwan’s IC distributors. Since demand for SDRAM is unlikely to pick up significantly in 2005, Samsung will need to attract customers through price cuts, the sources explained.
