ATI Technologies and Nvidia have moved to strengthen their corporate organizations in northern Asia, with ATI planning to set up its first R&D center in the region and Nvidia moving its regional marketing headquarters to Taipei from Singapore, according to market sources.

ATI has signed an agreement with the South Korea government to build an R&D center in that country to develop chipsets for digital TVs, handsets and other digital consumer products, the sources noted. This will be ATI’s first such facility in the Asia-Pacific region, the sources added.
