ASUS announced its P5Q PRO and P5Q SE PLUS are the first motherboards to be WHQL certified for Windows 7:
As the pioneer and leading producer of motherboards, ASUS has consistently ensured that its customers are the first to reap the benefits of—and test drive—the latest technologies and innovations. This fact was reinforced yet again today, when ASUS became the first motherboard manufacturer in the world to obtain WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) certification for 32-bit Windows 7. This certification comes just a week after ASUS created a stir by being the world’s first to release beta drivers designed to enable ASUS motherboard users to fully experience what Windows 7 RC (Release Candidate) has to offer. The Windows 7 WHQL-certified models are the ASUS P5Q PRO and P5Q SE PLUS. Announcements on other WHQL-certified models will follow shortly.

WHQL certification—which enables the use of the “Compatible with Windows 7” logo—is important to end-users as it indicates 100% compatibility and stability with Windows 7 even across diverse system configurations. Consumers can be confident that WHQL-certified ASUS motherboards will “just work” on Windows 7. ASUS is committed to attaining certification and additional qualifications for its entire line of motherboards so as to ensure that ASUS motherboard users will enjoy a complete and flawless Windows 7 experience when the operating system is officially launched.
