NVIDIA GT300 taped out on TSMC's 40nm process

DigiTimes reports NVIDIA is ramping up orders for 40nm GPUs, the company reportedly expects 40nm GPUs will account for 30 percent of its overall GPU shipments by the end of the year. The site also confirms earlier rumors that the GT300 GPU has recently been taped-out on TSMC's 40nm process and adds that NVIDIA is planning to test TSMC's 28nm process in Q1 2010.
Nvidia has recently completed the tape-out of its next-generation (GT300) GPU on TSMC's 40nm process, indicated the sources.

Nvidia has also expressed interest in becoming an initial client of TSMC's 28nm process, which will start initial production in first-quarter 2010, the sources noted.
