Samsung to invest $24 billion

South Korean chipmaker Samsung is to invest 25 trillion won ($24bn; £12.36bn) building new chip production lines over the next six years. The plan was revealed by Samsung Group chairman Lee Kun-Hee as Samsung bosses met to mark the firm's 30th anniversary in the semiconductor business.

He also announced a chip sales target of 200 trillion won by 2010.
