Intel LGA775 processors in short supply?

Posted on Wednesday, December 22 2004 @ 23:11 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck
The current supply of Intel desktop-use mainstream LGA775 Pentium 4 CPUs, such as the Pentium 4 530 (3.0GHz) and 520 (2.8GHz), is insufficient in Taiwan, especially in the channel, according to sources at Taiwan motherboard makers. The shortage is expected to last until the first quarter of next year, the sources said.

Some PC OEMs have also tried to buy the CPUs from the channel, although Intel usually gives supply priority to them, the sources noted. More info at DigiTimes
