Acer: CULV notebooks doing worse than expected

Acer chairman JT Wang told DigiTimes that sales of ultra-thin notebooks are falling short of expectations. The company expected Intel CULV based notebooks would account for 30 percent of its shipments this quarter, but this has been adjusted to 20 percent while expectations for the fourth quarter are down from 50 percent to 30 percent. The future looks better though, Wang believes ultra-thin notebooks could account for around 50 percent of Acer's shipments in 2010.
Wang said he believes Acer's notebook shipments will have no problem achieving growth of 30-40% in the second half compared to the first.
