Nintendo Wii getting $50 price cut this weekend?

Posted on Thursday, September 24 2009 @ 03:02:53 CEST by

Rumor has it that Nintendo will announce a $50 price cut for the Wii on Friday:
If you expected Nintendo to cut the price of its console to meet the pressure from Sony and Microsoft, you were right. Engadget has received a tip that shows a screen grab from what appears to be a Best Buy computer showing that the price cut for the Wii to $199 will be announced by Nintendo on Friday. Strangely, the same post also says that the price cut will not go into effect until Sunday. The source also claims that stores are getting increased inventory to support the expected rush of $199 Wii buyers.
