Qimonda to sell its patents

Bankrupt memory maker Qimonda announced the creation of Qimonda Licensing LLC for licensing and exploitation of its patent portfolio:
Qimonda AG announces the establishment of Qimonda Licensing LLC with offices in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Qimonda AG, which is under administration of insolvency administrator Dr. Michael Jaffé, is the owner of one of the largest semiconductor patent portfolios in the world stemming from decades of worldwide research and development.

Mr. Brian Prather is one of Qimonda Licensing LLC`s directors. Mr. Prather has led Qimonda AG`s licensing efforts for several years with staff located in both the U.S. and Munich/Germany.

Qimonda Licensing LLC`s U.S. based team will be responsible for the licensing and exploitation of Qimonda AG`s worldwide patent portfolio.
