Sony VAIO S series launched

Sony is showing off the new VAIO S series at CES 2010, this 13.3" lineup is designed for everyday work and play. You can expect these systems in retail stores by the end of the month.
The stylish new VAIO S Series offers a compelling blend of mobility and performance that’s perfect for doing better business. Weighing just 2kg (with battery) and sleekly sculpted in tough, light magnesium alloy, it’s the perfect all-rounder for work or play.

The new VAIO S Series is powered by the latest generation of energy-efficient Intel® Core™ processors. Performance is boosted by up to 4GB of fast DDR3 RAM that gives plenty of space to run all your applications with ease. High performance NVIDIA® GeForce® 310M graphics with 512MB GDDR3 VRAM (selected models) copes effortlessly with business presentations, movies and gaming. You’ll benefit fully from the GPU’s awesome graphics capabilities even when viewing on a connected HD TV via the HDMI port.

The widescreen 33.8cm (13.3”) VAIO Display with LED backlight offers superb clarity, contrast and colour accuracy for a beautiful view of movies, photos, graphics and more.

Selected models feature a backlit keyboard with ambient light sensor. The same light sensor adjusts screen brightness on all models for comfortable viewing while cutting power consumption. There’s also a multi-touch trackpad for comfortable, positive operation.

Built-in security features include Advanced HDD Protection that safeguards your data from disc crashes – even while you’re booting up or preparing to go into hibernation mode.

Connectivity includes three USB ports and HDMI for enjoying your Full HD media collection on a connected TV. Even if you’re far from a Wi-fi hotspot, optional VAIO Everywair 3G mobile broadband keeps you connected at download speeds up to 7.2 Mbps.

There’s also a full range of accessories from Sony that includes a docking station, privacy filter for undisturbed screen viewing, matching carry case and mouse options… and much more.
