eBook reader market may pass 10 million units this year

PVI chairman Scott Liu predicts sales of eBook readers may surpass 10 million units this year as over 50 new vendors are expected to launch eBook devices in 2010.
Prime View International (PVI) chairman Scott Liu has said he expects global e-book reader shipments in 2010 will have a chance to surpass 10 million since over 50 new vendors are expected to launch e-book devices this year.

PVI will allocate NT$50-60 million (US$1.56-1.87 million) to triple its capacity for the production of e-ink, e-paper films and back-end modules by the end of 2010, according to the company.
