Intel deploying its 64-bit and dual-core Pentium 4 plans

Processor giant Intel is about to launch its Pentium 4 600 series, which will feature Intel's EM64T 64-bit technology as well as a larger 2MB L2 cache.

Dual-core Pentium 4s with hyperthreading will be launched in the second half of the year, they will use a new chipset called the i955.

A budget dual-core Pentium 4 will be launched also in the second half of the year, but this processor will lack the hyperthreading feature.
