Bright Side of News spotted that EA has managed to get on the Fortune 500 list. It has little to do with impressive growth though, it appears EA got on the list thanks to heavy cost cutting and the fact that it lost less money than other firms.
Late last week, Fortune released their list of their coveted Fortune 500 list for 2010. In that list, was one of the biggest companies in gaming, Electronic Arts [Stock: ERTS]. EA managed to get on the list of the largest corporations in America through what can simply be considered as heavy cost cutting. Even so, we believe that one of the biggest reasons why EA managed to edge their way into 494th place is due in part to the fact that many other companies simply lost more money than EA did. EA’s ability to slowly stop the bleeding as allowed them to edge their way in to the coveted list.
