BusinessWeek reports the ITC has rescheduled its decision in Rambus' patent suit against NVIDIA to July 26, as the commission will consider whether the firm's $900 million deal with Samsung exhausts rights to make claims against NVIDIA.
The U.S. International Trade Commission said yesterday it will consider whether Rambus’s $900 million Samsung deal exhausted rights to make patent-infringement claims against Nvidia. Rambus, which gets most of its revenue from patent licensing, fell as much as 7.8 percent in New York trading.

Rambus filed the ITC case in 2008 and sought an order to block imports of Nvidia chips and the products that contain them, including computers made by Hewlett-Packard Co. The ITC was scheduled to decide the case yesterday, and instead said it will release a ruling July 26.
