Hitachi to present Itanium 2 chipset at IDF

Hitachi announced a chipset for the Intel Itanium 2 processor that supports FSB speeds of 667MHz.

The company will expose its BladeSymphony product powered by this Itanium 2 chipset this week at the IDF in San Francisco.
The FSB 667MHz chipset achieves SPECCPU2000 Benchmark improvements of 15% and STREAM Benchmark improvements of 40%, compared to a 400MHz FSB.
