Projector makers to launch models based on Texas Instruments' .55 XGA DLP chip

Soon Taiwanese projector makers will launch models based on the recently launched .55 XGA (1024x768) resolution DLP chip from Texas Instruments.

Currently, projectors using .7 XGA chips are the mainstream in the office-projector market. Although projectors based on the .55 XGA chip will be slimmer, they will have a lower brightness, according to the projector makers. However, projectors using the new chips can be offered at lower price points.
