Sharp to debut goggle-less 3D smartphone before year-end

Sharp announced it will introduce a 3D smartphone before the end of the year. The phone will feature a 3D panel that can be viewed without special glasses, and it will also have a 3D capable camera. It's likely to be similar to the technology featured in Nintendo's 3DS handheld console.
Sharp Corp plans to take on Apple's iPhone by the end of the year, with the international launch of a smartphone featuring a 3D panel that can be viewed without special glasses, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

The new phone will also likely have a 3D capable camera, the spokeswoman said.
