Indonesian coast hit by huge earthquake - fear for Tsunami

An earthquake with a suspected magnitude of 8.2 hit before the Indonesian coast today. Scientists fear that this quake might trigger a tsunami like on December 26.

The epicentre is located approx. 200 kilometers west from Sibolga, Sumatra Island at a depth of 30km. The quake lasted for several minutes.

The earthquake occurred approx. 1.5 hours ago and specialists say that it can take about 3 hours before a tsunami might hit the land.
