GeForce 4 MX (NV17) was always the liked evil of the journalists hardware. Not supporting certain functions DirectX 8.1 (pixel and vertex shaders) one even spoke about improved GeForce 2. The consumer was sulky, his big brother, GeForce 4 Ti 4200 gained the bay-trees of the last Nvidia vintage.
